Living Well Together

Exploring how residential neighbourhoods can encourage healthier communities.

Homes are shaped by the spaces between them.

Rather than focusing solely on housing numbers, this concept investigated how shared spaces, walkability and access to nature can strengthen community life. It is presented as research into healthier neighbourhood patterns rather than a housing scheme.

Masterplan

Community housing proposal focused on living well together: Site strategy

Designing for community, connection and everyday life

The masterplan is designed around community, connection and everyday life. Homes, green spaces and shared facilities are carefully arranged to create a welcoming and connected neighbourhood.

Landscaped courtyards, community gardens, play areas and pedestrian routes provide opportunities for residents to meet, socialise and enjoy the outdoors. The aim is to create a place that feels active and inclusive, where people can develop a strong sense of belonging and community.

More than a collection of homes, it is designed as a place to live, connect and belong.

Reflection

Neighbourhood design influences wellbeing through movement, shared gardens, thresholds, views and places to meet. These ideas now inform how Dan Ash Design thinks about every home as part of a wider community.

A healthier neighbourhood makes everyday connection easier.

Wellbeing

Every home forms part of a wider community.

Thoughtful residential design begins with how people live together — inside the home and beyond its front door.
